A Kofax Express jobs contains a complete configuration, such as barcode, document separation, index and all other job settings including all CaptureBites export connector settings.
The job definition and other settings are contained in files on your disk and they can easily be saved as a backup or shared with us for review.
Below are the locations of the Kofax Express configuration files.
NOTE: If you are using Kofax Express 3.2, just replace Kofax Express 3.3 with Kofax Express 3.2 in all paths.
Let’s assume that the Kofax Express Job you want to share is named “MY JOB”:
1) Select FolderScan in your scan job, and import some images that are relevant to the issue you want us to look at.
If you are not familiar with FolderScan, you can watch this short video tutorial.
2) Ideally, only keep the batch with the imported images and delete any other batches in the job you want to share with us.
IMPORTANT: By default, the Windows “ProgramData” folder is hidden. Follow these instructions to unhide the folder.

3) Close Kofax Express and do the following:
– Zip and back-up on another drive / e-mail the following folder to us:
C:\ProgramData\Kofax\Kofax Express 3.3\Batches\MY JOB

– Zip and back-up on another drive / e-mail the following folder to us:
C:\ProgramData\Kofax\Kofax Express 3.3\Jobs\MY JOB
– Zip and back-up on another drive / e-mail the following folder to us:
C:\ProgramData\Kofax\Kofax Express 3.3\Scanners\Profiles\FolderScan
4) If you make use of sample images with FolderScan, also email the original file(s) you imported with FolderScan.

– If you also use any Excel or Access Database for lookup or to export to, zip and back-up on another drive / e-mail these files to us.
– If you also use AutoBites, zip and back-up on another drive / e-mail the following folder to us:
C:\ProgramData\CaptureBites\Express\Programs\AutoBites
– If you also use MetaServer, zip and back-up on another drive / e-mail the following folder to us:
C:\ProgramData\CaptureBites\Programs\MetaServer\Data\Workflows
For Windows Server 2008 or higher, follow the Windows 7 or higher instructions.
For Windows Server 2003, follow the same instructions as for Windows XP.
NOTE: Since Kofax Express 3.2, Windows XP is not supported anymore, these instructions are only valid for Kofax Express 3.1.

and email it to us.
– Zip and back-up on another drive / e-mail the following folder to us:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kofax\Kofax Express 3.1\Batches\MY JOB

– Zip and back-up on another drive / e-mail the following folder to us:

Jobs, batches and scanner profiles on a Kofax Express Client/Server System
On a Kofax Express client-server system, jobs, batches and scanner profiles are only saved on the server. The paths are also different from the paths on a standalone system.
Job path on a client-server system (Windows 10 or higher):
C:\ProgramData\Kofax\Kofax Express 3.3\Server\Jobs\
Scanner profiles path on a client-server system (Windows 10 or higher):
C:\ProgramData\Kofax\Kofax Express 3.3\Server\Scanners\Profiles\
Batches path on a client-server system (Windows 10 or higher):
C:\ProgramData\Kofax\Kofax Express 3.3\Server\Jobs\
NOTE: When you copy jobs, batches or scanner profiles from one client-server installation to another, you need to restart the service called Kofax Express Server on the PC acting as Kofax Express server to make them visible for the server and clients.
