MetaServer Pricing Model

One of the first questions any business asks before adopting a document automation platform is simple: what will it actually cost, and what do you get for that price? With many capture and IDP vendors, the answer hides behind subscription tiers or per-page fees.
MetaServer takes a different approach, built around a perpetual license and a clearly defined base package.
Here's what that pricing model looks like and what's included from day one.
MetaServer is sold as a stand-alone, modular product. Instead of paying an ongoing subscription fee per user or per page, you purchase the base license. This can go along with any additional modules, concurrent clients or workflows you need and you pay for it once. The only variable is the support, first year is mandatory priced at 20% of the license value.
Maintenance renewal comes with a built-in incentive to commit longer term:
- 1 year: 20% of license price per year
- 2 years: 18% of license price per year
- 3+ years: 16% of license price per year
A MetaServer license is tied to a single PC, server or virtual machine and importantly and there is no page limitation.
A common frustration with capture software is discovering that the "starter" package barely does anything until you add more paid modules.
MetaServer's base license is built to avoid that.
Out of the box, it already includes:
- 2 concurrent clients (Admin and/or Operator Client)
- Up to 2 workflows, so you can automate more than one document process from the start
Import
- Import from Folder: automatically pick up PDF, TIF, JPG, or PNG files from a specified folder
- Import from Workflow: bring documents and metadata in from another workflow, making it possible to chain multiple workflows together
Document handling
- Separate Document / Process Page: automatically split documents and delete or rotate pages based on rules
- Organize: visually reorder, split, or delete pages via the organizer
- Validate: route documents that fail validation rules to a validation viewer for a quick human check
- Distribute: send a document down a different path in the workflow based on the value of a specific field
Editing
- Delete Page(s): remove pages such as separator sheets automatically
- Add External Documents: append or prepend existing files on disk to the document being processed
Conversion
- Convert to Black and White
- Convert to Image PDF
- Convert to JPG
- Convert to Multipage TIF
- Scale Page(s): reduce file size by scaling document images
- Set PDF Properties: password-protect PDFs and control permissions
- Convert to Searchable PDF: turn scanned PDF, TIF, JPG, or PNG files into searchable PDFs, partially or completely
Export
- Export to Folder / FTP
- Export to Workflow: send results onward to another workflow for further processing
In other words, the base license alone covers a full capture-to-export pipeline: import, separate, validate, convert and export, without needing to buy add-ons just to get a working process.
If you already run a MetaServer solution, you can easily expand your solution with additional modules whenever you need. You can first request a trial of any additional module to test them first. When you're happy with the results during the trial period, you can then purchase these modules, concurrent clients or workflows.
Once purchased, the new modules will be automatically activated by just refreshing your license. No reinstall or migration required.
For small and mid-sized businesses in particular, a perpetual license with no page limits and a transparent maintenance structure removes a big budgeting headache in document automation: unpredictable subscription costs.
You know the license cost upfront, you know what the base package includes and you can expand only when your business actually needs it.
