MetaServer > Help > Troubleshoot > Windows Performance counter setting is corrupt
The Windows Performance Counter Setting is corrupt. “Unable to load counter name data because an invalid index was read from the registry”
The MetaServer Counters panel makes use of the Windows performance counters. If the Windows Performance Counter Setting got corrupted, the Counter panel freezes and, after a few minutes, the following error is returned:
"Unable to load counter name data because an invalid index was read from the registry."
Solution:
To reset / rebuild the Windows performance counter setting, you can recover it from the system backup store.
Step 1: Run command prompt as admin and enter:
C:\windows\system32> lodctr /r
Step 2 (optional): If another error is returned (...Unable to rebuild performance counter setting from system backup store), change your directory to "SysWOW64" and run the same command again:
C:\windows\SysWOW64> lodctr /r
